Optimal Duration of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy After Drug-Eluting Stents Implantation: A Randomized, Multi-Center DES-LATE Trial
On Thursday morning, at 10:00 AM, the "Optimal Duration of Dual Antiplatelet therapy after Implantation of Drug-Eluting Stents" will be lectured at Main Arena by Seung-Jung Park, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Medicine and Director of Interventional Cardiology, University of Ulsan College of Medicine at the ASAN Medical Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Long-term safety of drug-eluting stents (DES) has been a serious concern due to an increased risk of late-occurring stent thrombosis, death, or myocardial infarction(MI). These serious outcomes can be reduced by administering dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT); however, the optimal duration of DAPT administration following a DES implantation has not been validated.

Recently, the study of ˇ°Duration of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy after Implantation of Drug-eluting stentsˇ± was published on March 15, 2010, at NEJM.org. This study came out by merging data from two concurrent randomized controlled trials (REAL-LATE and ZEST-LATE) comparing clopidogrel continuation vs. discontinuation in patients who were event-free for......
Insight into LM PCI from MAIN-COMPARE
The five-year results of the MAIN-COMPARE registry study will be reported at Main Arena in Late Breaking Clinical Trials, April 29, at 9:40 am by Young-Hak Kim, M.D., Ph.D., Associate professor of Cardiology at University of Ulsan College of Medicine at the Asan Medical Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Although coronary-artery bypass grafting (CABG) has been recommended as the standard care for patients with unprotected left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease, there are so many emerging data favorable for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of those patients. On the basis of the evidence in......

Transcatheter Aortic Valves: Complications during Percutaneous Aortic Valve Implantation
Eberhard Grube, MD

Many discussions were spotlighted today in morning roundtable forum at 7:00 am. There is a renewed enthusiasm in intervention at this TCTAP meeting in particular, "percutaneous aortic valve implantation". Eberhard Grube, MD., Chief of Cardiology/Angiology, Helios Heart Center Siegburg, Germany who was involved in this procedure since its real beginning, gave a lecture, "Complications during Percutaneous Aortic Valve Implantation". Obviously Percutaneous Aortic Valve Implantation started off with those patients who weren't candidates for surgery, and.....
